Migraine advice for patients

Are you suffering from migraines? You’re not alone. Migraine is one of the most common neurological conditions affecting more than 10 million people in the UK. Migraines are also more prevalent among women1 and the Global Burden of Disease Study in 2016 showed that headaches were most burdensome in women between ages 15 and 49 years, with migraine causing 20.3 million years of life lived with disability (YLDS) in this age group and sex.2

Despite this, migraine is still overlooked and misunderstood, often leading to avoidable hospital admissions. In England alone this is estimated to be 16,500 emergency admissions for headache and migraine.3

This website has been created to provide advice about migraines, help you recognise the symptoms of migraines, understand the possible causes, and to learn about available treatments that may benefit you or your friends, loved ones or colleagues. It’s here to help anyone suffering from migraines, and ultimately, help us all live life on our own terms.
